1.4 The Family Grows

When Derrick woke up, she quickly ran over to him where he was repairing a nieghbor’s TV.

“Derrick,” she said.

“Yes, honey?”

“I have something to tell you. Something very important.”

“What is it?” he asked with a worried look on his face.

“I’m pregnant!”

“Really!?” he said, smiling. Danielle nodded.

Derrick was so excited for the new addition to their family. He couldn’t get away from Danielle’s small baby bump.

He even insisted that they go to the library to read pregnancy books.

But Danielle decided to read a charisma book instead, thinking Derrick was crazy.

Derrick also decided to take up gardening and get a job. Since he had a green thumb and loved the outdoors, he figured it would be a good idea. He got a job as a scientist, which needed good gardeners. And he was loving it.

Danielle was also getting bigger and bigger by the day. She couldn’t believe her body could handle this.

Due to the stress on her body, Danielle would play in the sprinkler Derrick used to water his plants. Although, she would sometimes over water the plants, Derrick didn’t mind.

In fact, Derrick thought it would be a good idea to play in the sprinkler too. But little did he know his wife was in the other room screaming for him. She was in labor!

“DERRICK!!” she shouted.

He quickly hurried into the bathroom and told her to get in the car. He drove to the hospital as fast as he could.

A few hours later Dakota Barringer was born with the athletic and loves the outdoors traits.

Danielle placed her in the crib Derrick had bought with the money he was making from his job and selling his crops. But she wasn’t in there for long. Derrick and Danielle couldn’t stop snuggling or playing with her.

But the time of Dakota as an infant quickly passed. And soon it was time for her first birthday party. Danielle had a small party with Derrick and her’s closest friends.

A while after Dakota’s birthday, her true features started showing. She was definitely a spitting image of her mother with her blond hair and blue eyes. Derrick was happy, too, that Dakota looked so much like his beautiful wife, Danielle.
